Well, here I am at 21 weeks! I am feeling great and really enjoy being pregnant right now. This week movement has really increased which makes it that much more real. Tuesday we had an ultrasound appointment and midwife appointment afterward. Seeing the baby was so neat! We got to see all different views and angles of the little one. At one point we were watching it face on and could see it’s precious little mouth open and close. The ultrasound tech said that it was most likely swallowing. The tech also showed us it’s heart, spine, brain, kidneys, and bladder. She checked for all the necessary parts…arms, feet, and hands. The baby had it’s middle finger up while checking one of the hands. We had a pretty good laugh! This is the scan that can determine the sex of the baby. If you have been reading for a while, you know that we want the sex of the baby to be a surprise. The technician still checks to make sure everything is developing correctly and had us turn our eyes away from the screen while she took a peak. She tried with no luck because the baby had it’s legs perfectly crossed in front of the goods. Guess we have a very modest baby. She came back to that area a few different times hoping enough time had passed for the baby to move positions. NOPE! That baby was not going to allow her a look. So even if we wanted to find out, the baby wants it to be a surprise. After she printed us some pictures we headed over to see the midwife. Everything is going great and I am measuring exactly where I should be. Later we took a trip to Buy Buy Baby to get a feel for what we want to register for. Walked out of the store feeling a bit overwhelmed. Time to start doing a little research on what to purchase that is both high in quality and value! I’d love to hear any product suggestions you might have in the comments below! A lot has changed in 11 years!
How Far Along? 21 weeks! Past the half way mark of my pregnancy!
Maternity clothes? Still working with my normal wardrobe. Staying away from the maternity gear as long as I can!
Sleep? Sleep has been pretty good lately. I have been resting pretty comfortably for the most part. Enjoying it while I can!
Best Moment this week: Having our ultrasound appointment! Incredible to see how much the baby has grown and makes it that much more real!
Miss anything? I miss being able to get into inverted poses (such as handstands, headstand etc) but it won’t be long until I can start turning my world upside down again! I also really could have used a margarita this week with work being as stressful as it has been.
Movement?: ALL THE TIME! I think we have a little ninja in there. I can tell the baby is getting stronger because I am feeling all kinds of movement. Even through my belly with my hand. Can’t wait for my husband to experience it!.
Food cravings? I was kinda craving some deviled eggs and made those last week. But it wasn’t any different from any cravings I would get pre-pregnancy. Just got in mood for it!
Anything making you queezy or sick? Not at all. I feel great!
Gender: Mystery baby! It will stay a mystery until I deliver. 🙂
Labor signs? Nope.
Symptoms: Not really! Just some tightening of my lower abdomen which is normal. Apparently my uterus in practicing for the big day.
Belly button in or out: In….but definitely getting flatter!
Wedding ring on or off: On
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy! 🙂 Maybe a little moody at work…but that is more situational than hormonal!
Looking forward to: My son Noah has been away visiting family in Wisconsin and comes back Monday morning. Can’t wait to squeeze him. He also has a very big day Wednesday. First day of middle school..eek!!! I can’t believe my baby is in 6th grade!
