28 Weeks!

28 weeks! www.eatmovelivelove.com

Hard to believe I am in the 3rd trimester and cruising through this pregnancy!  According to my handy dandy pregnancy app, Baby S is almost 17 inches long and close to 3 lbs.  That’s double the weight since the last time I posted!  I can’t believe I am 7 months pregnant and in about 2 months our little blessing will be here!

How Far Along?  28 weeks!  7 months

Maternity clothes?  Yes indeed!   In my last post, I mentioned that I went shopping for some key items.  Since then a sweet friend reach out and let me borrow some of hers.  It’s nice to have some variety again!

Sleep?  Sleep hasn’t been too bad thanks to my Boppie Pillow but I am definitely sleeping much lighter than I am used to.  Everything wakes me up…especially the dogs!  I guess I am being prepared for the future.

Best Moment this week:  Went to my midwife appointment last Tuesday and took my gestational diabetes test (YUCK!) and passed!  My midwife also determined that the baby’s head is in down position (what a good little baby!) and when she checked it’s heartbeat we could hear it hiccuping!  Super cute!

Miss anything?  I am missing being able to bend over without feeling I am going to topple over.  It’s getting more difficult to put my own shoes on.  I also miss being able to do my non-modified workouts.  I know the time will come where I can start pushing myself physically again soon!

Movement?  This baby is constantly moving.  It’s cracks me up!  When I am sitting at meetings, I wonder if people notice my stomach moving all over the place.  It’s super obvious at times.  Sometimes it feels like the baby is giving me a massage with it’s little fingers within my lower abdominal area.  Sounds weird but it’s the best way I can explain the feeling!  Baby also likes to shift it’s little tush out by the right side of my ribcage.  It can be slightly uncomfortable at times but it’s so cute that I can feel it’s little bum so I really don’t mind.

Food cravings?  Not really.  I guess I enjoy a little something sweet after dinner but otherwise I have been sticking to a pretty healthy diet.  Protein shakes in the AM, huge salads with chicken for lunch, fresh fruit for snacks, and protein/veggie rich dinners.  I did learn this week that my iron is a little low.  It’s not to the point where I need to start taking an iron supplement but I do need to amp up the iron dense foods in my diet.  I thought I was getting enough but apparently not.  Bring on the steak!

Anything making you queezy or sick?  Not at all, thank goodness!  Feeling good!  Just running out of space for the food to go.  Trying to remind myself to eat smaller, more frequent meals so that I don’t feel uncomfortable after a meal.

Gender:  Mystery baby!  It will stay a mystery until I deliver.  🙂

Labor signs?  Not yet and I hope it stays that way for at least another 9 weeks (at 37 weeks, Baby’s lungs are fully developed).

Symptoms:  I have been experiencing some back pain towards the end of the day but most days it’s manageable.  My sciatic nerve still gives me some issues here and there but not like it did a few weeks back.  Not experiencing much swelling yet (knock on wood) so let hope it stays that way!  Really can’t complain too much in the symptom department!

Belly button in or out:  Half in, half out…I know.  Weird!

Wedding ring on or off:  Still on!  Yippee!!!

Happy or moody most of the time:  Feeling very happy!  🙂

Looking forward to:  Crazy the time is already here (especially because it feels like I signed up forever ago) but the hubs and I start birthing classes on Tuesday evening!  I am very excited to experience all of this with him!  It’s every Tuesday at the hospital that we are delivering at for 4 weeks.  We are also doing a breastfeeding class following the birthing classes.  I am also looking forward to getting the nursery ready.  We got the guest bedroom furniture moved into the finished attic last weekend.  I think I am going to attempt to paint this weekend.  Then we (ok, Jason!) will put together the nursery furniture.  Can’t wait to see everything start to come together!
