Hey everyone! Before I get started with my weekly pregnancy progress, I have to share what an exciting week it’s been for my family. We became foster parents to an adorable, old man named Rocco. He is a 13 year old English Bulldog that was rescued by the Illinois English Bulldog Rescue. His owner of 13 years left him at the City of Chicago shelter (a kill shelter) because he could no longer hold his urine while his owner was away at work. Interestingly enough, he has yet to have an accident in the house.
He is a sweet, little old man that likes to be pet and sleep a lot but can be a little bit stubborn at times. Typical bulldog stuff. You would never guess that he was 13 years old. He still has enough spunk to run up stairs when it’s time to come inside. We are happy to have him be part of our family until he finds his furever home!
Today concludes my 12th week of pregnancy! Some of the pregnancy apps that I have downloaded on my phone are telling me that I am officially in the 2nd trimester, some are telling me I am in my last week 1st. I have really started to feel a lot more like myself and I am looking forward to actually looking pregnant soon! My belly size is still not all that big but it’s definitely starting to grow! The skinny jeans have definitely been retired until next year. From what I read, I should really start to “pop” soon. Baby is about the size of a kiwi now!
How Far Along? 12 weeks today! Last week of the 1st trimester (or 1st week of the 2nd depending on who you ask)! WOOOOHOOOO!
Total weight gain: I haven’t gain any more weight since I last posted (thank goodness!). Still at 9 lbs. Hoping that my weight gain is leveling out a bit since I gained so much in the 1st trimester. Eating healthier and working out a little more consistently might be helping with that! I will say though….I definitely don’t mind having bigger boobs. I have always been very small in the chest. Better enjoy them while can!
Maternity clothes? Still no maternity clothes but I have purchased a few cute maxi dresses (like the one in the picture above..cute, right?!?!). These should help get me through the summer and I will also be able to wear them again when I am not pregnant. Pretty sure I am going to be living in maxi dresses this summer! They are so much more comfortable than pants.
Sleep? I have been sleeping great and don’t feel as tired as I did the past 12 weeks which is great! Still having some crazy, intense, super vivid dreams though. I should start writing some of them down….I could make a lot of money turning some of these into a screen plays or books.
Best Moment this week: Becoming foster parents to Mr. Rocco! Also, baby is also now fully formed! Though it’s brain and organs will continue to grow and develop, it has all the necessary pieces.
Miss anything? Not really….but now that the weather is getting warmer, I sure would like to be able to enjoy a drink on my front porch. Time to get creative with some healthy “mocktail” recipes!
Movement? I thought I felt a flutter 2 times last week. But it also could have been gas. Who knows!
Food cravings? Not really.
Anything making you queezy or sick? I have been feeling so much better. No issues over the past week! Finally, my stomach is excepting healthy, fresh foods again.
Gender: Mystery baby! It will stay a mystery until I deliver. 🙂
Labor signs? Nope.
Symptoms: A little bloat here and there but nothing too bad. And the crazy, wild dreams.
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding ring on or off: On
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy! 🙂
Looking forward to: I have my next appointment on Tuesday morning. This will be my first appointment with my midwife so I am excited to meet her and I think I also will get to hear the baby’s heartbeat for the first time. I am also SUPER excited to be out of the first trimester next week.
