I am expecting!
I am just about out of the 1st trimester and I am slowly starting to feel a little better and gaining some of my energy back. I am trying to get back into a fitness routine and start eating healthier. I haven’t been eating the cleanest lately so it’s time to get back on track! It’s important to eat healthy and stay fit for both baby and my own health.
I thought it would be kinda fun to update you all every couple of weeks or so with my progress in addition to posting workouts and recipes. So, here is my first update!
How Far Along? 10 weeks and 6 days
Total weight gain: Do I really need to admit this? 9 lbs as of this morning. Eek! This is a lot more than I should have gained according to what I read so it has me a little worried. But I am also trying not to stress too much about my weight and to focus on being as healthy as I can be during my pregnancy. Hoping now that I am feeling a little better I can get back into a regular workout routine and start eating better. I am sure this will make me feel better!
Maternity clothes? Not yet. But I have started shopping for dresses and maxi skirts that are stretchy and expandable to get me through the summer. I figure these are items that I can actually wear again after baby. I will say though, everything is getting tighter. Blah. Those cute shorts I bought last summer are definitely not an option this year.
Sleep? Even though I crashed for a bit after work yesterday, I am not as tired during the day as I was a few weeks back. I have been sleeping at night just fine. Crazy, vivid dreams though!
Best Moment this week: My son Noah turned 11 last Friday, graduated from the 5th grade, and his team won 1st place in a basketball tournament in Minneapolis last weekend. Very eventful week for my first baby! Oh! And I am 1/4 of the way through my pregnancy. Woohoo!
Miss anything? Being able to wear some of the pants and shorts that I used to.
Movement? Not yet!
Food cravings? Not really. But over the past few days I have been wanting cold, crispy foods (think salads, lettuce wraps).
Anything making you queezy or sick? I have been doing pretty good lately, although the big healthy salad I had made for lunch did not sit in my stomach well today. Pregnancy is weird!
Gender: Mystery baby! It will stay a mystery until I deliver. 🙂
Labor signs? Nope.
Symptoms: Just feeling like a sausage.
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding ring on or off: On
Happy or moody of the time most: Happy! 🙂
Looking forward to: My next apt in 2 weeks. I decided to work with the Unity Point Midwives here in Des Moines going forward and this will be my first apt with them. Super excited to meet them!
